there is a lot of hiking, up and down and at the end of the trail as you approach machu pichu it is quite steep- and high. the altitude must also be considered and a couple of days at (ta && ta.queueforload ? if you still decide to go for it, be sure to hire a porter (you also need a guide and this is not negotiable). my best advise is to make sure you spend a couple of days getting used to the altitude in cuzco before you set off. then decide if you are fit enough to make the trip.. or at least learn first hand some of the problems others encountered (learning from others mistakes is a really good thing – free too) i hiked the trail and am not in good shape. you can also do a lot of day hikes that will take in parts of the (ta && ta.queueforload ?
i hiked the (ta && ta.queueforload ? we had a couple in their early 50’s in our group, the husband was quite out of shape, and he only found the first day to be difficult. our guide told us that the week before our trip he had a 78 year old woman on the trip – so you don’t need to be in amazing shape. the food was very, very good and there was a ton of it. well i leave in 6 weeks time to do the (ta && ta.queueforload ? but i belong to a pretty vigorous hiking group now and i’m putting in some extra training myself. not sure if you arent aware, but the train goes to mp and back, so if you feel you cant do the trail you can get the train this is the version of our website addressed to speakers of english in the united states.
