one of my favorite things about sheiko is how sustainable the program feels to me. the mid intensity feels good and i’m never really worried about injuries or pushing too far and all the volume really dials my technique to perfect. that’s precisely why i’ve never had the occasion to do sheiko. i looked at his programs – specifically a spreadsheet i found floating around with a bunch of programs – and i have no idea which one to follow. i’ve been bodybuilding for about 3 years and switched to strength training for about half a year before switching to powerlifting for a couple weeks now on a ppl program but i know it lacks volume.
also, want to mention your experience with it in the r/weightroom thread about nuckols’ programs? i don’t know whether it’s the most effective program for me but it’s the most fun i’ve ever had in the gym and i’ve learnt so much about my body and the way i respond to training in the process. my results from doing conjugate haven’t been any better or worse than any other program, but it’s way more fun and my hips/knees don’t feel beat up anymore. it has helped me so much, and rpe is the only way i’ve made progress. rts has really helped me as well, but the two are very similar with barbell medicine focusing a little more on improving health through barbell training. i did the bridge for a long time and it stopped to work, so i moved to the general intermediate and it’s helping me a lot.
sheiko had a beginner routine tho i’ve also done sheiko, i did intermediate large load and can’t agree more, the i have been in the gym and powerlifting for 10 months now. for my prep i just ran canditos 6 week intermediate twice. 64 votes, 232 comments. 155k members in the powerlifting community. a subreddit for the sport of powerlifting., sheiko program, sheiko program, sheiko program reddit, greg nuckols program, 6 day powerlifting program reddit.
