my weekly routine is two sessions of something similar to the rr pared down to 55 min including warm up and a little stretching plus one intense 10 min interval training session. the result is that i feel much stronger and i keep improving. on average it takes me 22-25 minutes, is a full body workout and i do it 2-3x a week. strength wise i feel way stronger in my day to day life and i love the mental aspect i get after a good workout. also, i realize a lot of people just love working out and spending a lot of time doing it. i enjoy my workouts and even look forward to them but i enjoy a lot of things more so the more streamlined my workout is the better. added in pull-ups after a few months and am now up to 10 after 2 months.
so for me at least, diet was the key, and keto gave me the energy to kick off the training. that is a good way to look at it. it was hard at first because i think this is the first time i’ve had to acknowledge i’m not a young man anymore. i have a bar in the kitchen door. sometimes i feel it should be normal for everyone to have a bar and do random pulls and shit. i end up doing two harder workouts with one rest day between them, then a light one after two rest days. do what you can manage and realize the temptation to sign your future self up for more than he can handle.
so the max i spend working out per week in terms of strength training is 1 hour and 15 minutes. my routine: warm up: 100% this i would never expect to improve training like this just not lose any strength. hopefully. pullups on all days. i do 3 sets of 5 (from a starting strength background)., minimalist bodyweight workout, minimalist bodyweight workout, minimalist barbell workout, minimalist powerlifting, reddit exercise routine.
